有一片是在1990年上海歌剧院民族乐团演奏录制的，由雨果隔年于1991年出版。这张唱片，就是雨果编号HRP 741-2的「小刀会」。

毕系舟曾经撰文说：【这款录音由夏飞云指挥上海民族乐团灌录，流畅自然，驾轻就熟，显然是大家都已熟悉的音乐，在风格上基本上仍掌握得到，能够将60年代「小刀会」的原唱班底－上海歌舞剧院的合唱团找来录唱了「小刀会」的两段合唱曲，也就更能增强了乐曲的地道韵味了。】

这话并没有夸张，选来录音的曲目实在很经典，这张唱片的副标题就是《五、六十年代经典中乐合奏曲》，这说明雨果「小刀会」的录音已不是五六十年代精典中乐合奏原版，而是90年代初上海民族乐团根据当时的乐团编制而编配的版本。原作曲的商易先生于2001年底或2002年初为何没有参与进来，就不得而知了。「小刀会」以前曾出现在香港黄梅调电影的配乐中，董榕森还曾经仿写成「还我河山」一曲。

这张唱片也收录了其他一些作品,如钱塘江畔、陕北组曲、翻身的日子、武术、春节序曲、东海渔歌和渔舟凯歌等。
