"Meat Loaf" 雖然他的火紅不是我的年代，但我仍為他唱出的靈魂而著迷！

很多人以為『肉塊』是個合唱團，這並不正確，因為那其實是一個有著自己樂隊班底的男歌手。

『肉塊』的本名叫做marvin lee aday，1947年的九月二十七日出生於德州的達拉斯，體重超過三百磅，簡直是個龐然大物。由於從小就是這種體型，他的福音歌手父親在他十三歲那年給他取了個『肉塊』的外
號，從此這個有點奇特的名字，就跟他密不可分，甚至成為他的藝名。1966 年組的第一個樂團名為 Meat Loaf Soul，由於 Meat Loaf 獨特的音域及雄混的聲音，立刻引起注意。名與利並未給 Meat Loaf 帶來好運，接下來的十年之中，Meat Loaf 一度因為聲帶問題無法再演唱，因而違約賠光家產還負債累累，Meat Loaf 甚至靠吸毒渡日，樂壇上從此少了這號人物。終於，肉條在妻子及小孩的鼓勵下，戒掉毒癮，變賣掉所有家產，找回當年合作伙伴，一部旅行車，橫越美國，在小酒吧中巡迴演唱，找回失落已久的歌迷。肉條這時聲帶的問題也逐漸獲得解決，雖然在團員中對於音樂風格起了極大爭執，不過為了生活，還是一站一站的唱下去，終於在 1993 年，以這曲 I 'll do anything for love 贏得葛萊美大獎。Meat Loaf 的努力也於 1999 年收入名人堂，而 Meat Loaf 再奮起的故事，也被拍成電影。
